Upon first beginning to play music at age 5, Matt Hartle knew what he wanted to do, and hasn't stopped since. After studying jazz for four years at the University of North Texas, Matt has been playing in various groups ranging from jazz to country to rock 'n' roll. As the lead guitarist for Shady Groove since August 2001, Matt found his niche, honing his skills as a guitarist, singer and songwriter.
With the decision to start his own band, Matt will now be flexing his chops as a band leader. The band will be performing Matt's original songs and instrumental compositions as well as music by other local songwriters.
Matt Hartle will be joined by Ron Lee on bass, and Steve Sofranko on organ and Chanda Cummings on drums.
